Cameron Millar

Cameron Alexander Millar, son of Allister MacPhail and Sherry Millar, was born March 19, 1972. He passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 in his home at the age of 45 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Cameron grew up in the Laquey area and graduated from Laquey High School in 1990. On June 19, 1993, Cameron was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart Tonya Lynn Ogle. They were married for over 23 years and were blessed with one son, Gunner. After graduating from high school, Cameron worked in construction, for a pipeline company, as a plumber, carpet layer and also as a welder with sign fabrication. In his spare time, Cameron enjoyed playing music, especially his bass guitar even playing in a band for a time. He loved spending time with his son and enjoyed coaching his son’s ball team. He worked with the Laquey High School basketball team as a weight trainer and also did power lifting. When he was younger, Cameron enjoyed racing cars. He and his son, Gunner also loved to watch movies and play video games together. Cameron loved his family and friends dearly and always looked forward to seeing them and spending time with them. He was a loving and inspiring person to all he met. He will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Cameron leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Tonya of the home; a son, Gunner Millar (Meghan) of Waynesville, MO; his brother, Ron Millar (Julie) of out of state; his mother-in-law, Debbie Basham-Ogle of Waynesville, MO; his father-in-law, Bruce Ogle of Richland, MO; his maternal grandfather-in-law, Clarence “Curley” Basham; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Cameron was preceded in death by his father, Allister MacPhail Millar and maternal grandmother-in-law, June Basham. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Larry Atkins and Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. The songs “Amazing Grace”, “Simple Man” and “Songbird” were played. Serving as escorts were Ron Millar, Mike Jones, Joey Sheppard, Ronnie Bowling, Delbert Sheppard, and Clark Lissak. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Cameron Millar and may be left at the funeral home.
