Carmen Laura Wynn

Carmen Laura Wynn, daughter of the late Juan Antonio and Dolores Vega, was born November 3, 1955 in Isabela, Puerto Rico. As a young girl, Carmen and her family moved to Bronx, New York where she grew up and attended school. Carmen married and during her 23 year marriage, she lived in Europe twice and in several other states due to her husband being in the military. They were blessed with three children: Anthony, Laureen and Amy. After a time, the family was transferred to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where she began working as a room attendant on base. She worked for over 18 years with two different companies and was one of the hardest working employees. On December 2, 2010, Carmen was united in marriage to Manny Rodriguez in Hinesville, Georgia. They shared over six years of marriage together and many wonderful memories. Carmen was a very kind, but outspoken person. She was always willing to take the time to answer any question or solve any problem no matter how big or how small and would be completely honest with you in a loving way. She had a huge and forgiving heart. She enjoyed the simple things in life and one of those was working in her flower and vegetable gardens with her husband, Manny. She had a passion for reading, especially James Patterson books. But her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. When Carmen was diagnosed with lymphoma in January 2017, she remained dedicated in her work and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron willed woman even throughout her final moments. Carmen passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 in the Barnes-Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, Missouri having attained the age of 61 years, 10 months and 7 days. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Carmen leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband: Manny Rodriguez of St. Robert, MO; three children: Amy Rosario of Dixon, MO, Laureen Sigler of Waynesville, MO and Anthony Rosario of St. Robert, MO; five grandchildren: Trinity Sigler, Nashanti Sigler, and Robert Sigler, all of Waynesville, MO and Alexander Alvarado and Alysia Alvarado, both of Dixon, MO; six siblings: Ada Faisca of St. Robert, MO, Joann Vega of Bronx, NY, Victor Misla of Isabela, Puerto Rico, Gladys Misla of Isabela, Puerto Rico, Herman Misla of Bronx, NY and Frankie Misla of Puerto Rico; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services were held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Father John Groner officiating. The songs “Take Me To The King”, “My Life is in Your Hands” and “Amazing Grace” were played. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carmen Wynn and may be left at the funeral home.
