Derek Lee Ogle

Derek Lee Ogle, son of Danny Lee Ogle and Judith Lynn (Tucker) Ogle, was born August 8, 1980 in Rolla, Missouri. He passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 in his home in Republic, Missouri having attained the age of 37 years. Derek grew up in the Waynesville/Laquey area and graduated from Laquey High School with the Class of 1998. Shortly after graduation, Derek began working at Hardee’s and became a manager. He later worked for Get N Go in Springfield before working for Kraft Foods where he has worked for 15 years and was currently serving as maintenance supervisor. Derek made a profession of faith and on January 25, 2004, he was baptized at the James River Assembly of God Church of Springfield. In his spare time, Derek enjoyed being outdoors. You could find him riding his motorcycle, playing golf, or camping and hiking with his brother, Tim and cousin, Roy. Derek enjoyed sports as well; whether it was playing a sport with his nieces and nephews, or cheering on his favorite football team, the Atlanta Falcons. He also liked working out at the gym with his co-workers and going to the shooting range. Derek loved spending time with his family. He liked going to the casinos in Las Vegas with his cousins, enjoying whiskey and cigars with Wayne, holding his nephew, and going on vacations with his sister Erica. He was also very good at building things and he and his brother, Tim built a garage for his mother Judy. Derek was a very loving son and had a generous heart. He was always willing to help anyone that needed help, never asking for anything in return and was always there for his mom whenever she needed him. Derek will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother: Judith Ogle of Waynesville, MO; one sister: Erica (Ogle) Hagerty and her husband Jason Hagerty of Waynesville, MO; one brother: Timothy Ogle of Waynesville, MO; three nieces: Ivory Estrada, Ashlynn Ogle and Angelica Ogle; one nephew: Henry Hagerty; one great nephew: Kaiden Estrada; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Derek was preceded in death by his father: Danny Lee Ogle; maternal grandparents: Effie and Bryan Tucker; and paternal grandparents: Lorraine and Kenneth Ogle. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Chris Hendrix and Pastor Tonya Powell officiating. Pastor Calvin Gladden sang “When We All Get to Heaven” and “What a Day That Will Be”. Serving as escorts were Timothy Ogle, Jason Hagerty, Wayne Adkins, Roy Lee Adkins, Christopher Ogle and Wayne Ogle. Serving as honorary escorts were Raymond Adkins, Michael Mosier, Jeremy Ogle and Robert Estrada. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Derek Ogle and may be left at the funeral home.
