Mary Sue Richards

Mary Sue Richards, daughter of the late Adolph “Jr” LaMarche and June M. (Martinson) LaMarche, was born March 26, 1951 in Escanaba, Michigan where she grew up and graduated from high school. Shortly after graduating from high school, Mary began working and during that time she met a United States Army soldier by the name of Charles Martin Richards. They were united in marriage on April 3, 1971 in Wells, Michigan and shared over 46 years of marriage together and were blessed with one son, Jim. Due to Charles being in the military, Mary and the family moved to different duty stations with him and in 1989, they were transferred to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where they have remained. After moving to the Fort Leonard Wood area, Mary began working on post with DPW and housing. She was a hard worker and took great pride in helping to provide for her family. In her spare time, Mary loved racing. She was a licensed race car driver and in her younger years, she loved being behind the wheel of a race car. She was also very passionate about her favorite music, to include Bobby Vinton and the Everly Brothers. She was a member of the American Legion Post 331 Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Post 3168 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in her home having attained the age of 66 years, 6 months and 23 days. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Chuck of the home; her son, Jim Richards (Maurita) of Enid, OK; a grandson, Matthew Richards of Boblingen, Germany; a sister, Susan Chouinard (George) of De Pere WI; three nephews, Daniel, Michael and Gary Chouinard; and a niece, Sara Chouinard; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rev. Paul Mondloch officiating. Burial was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary Richards and may be left at the funeral home.
